"I am a parent who wants to read all the books, listen to all the podcasts and talk with all the therapists to find out exactly what my child needs. I want to know what to do and how to help. I want their life to be as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Sorting thru all of that information is useful, but takes a lot of time to sift through and then develop a plan to implement. I love that The Resource Den gives clear and concise information regarding the basic developmental needs for my child. The format is easily understood, engaging, informative AND provides examples of what I can do RIGHT NOW to help support my child. The Resource Den is easy to access when I need help in the moment. I appreciate the ideas that I can implement right now that will have a huge impact both now and in my child's future!. I even told Lisa that it's worth way more than she's charging but that I wasn't surprised given her kind heart."

Is The Resource Den for you?
💛 Parenting is a gift, but it can also feel overwhelming—especially when differences bring unique challenges. If you’ve tried every parenting approach and still feel stuck, you’re not alone.
🐻 The Resource Den helps you better understand your child (and yourself) through the lens of the nervous system. Rooted in neuroscience and neurobiology, it offers simple, encouraging tips and strategies—without judgment.
🐻 You’ll learn why behavior is the brain’s way of protecting us, how play grows the brain and body, and why outdoor play boosts development even more.
🐻 The Resource Den also supports your nervous system, especially if you parent a child with disabilities, where the demands are magnified daily.
🐻 Alongside science, you’ll find fun activities like seasonal scavenger hunts—because family learning should be joyful!
📚 Content comes in short videos (most under 5 minutes), longer trainings (under an hour), and easy-to-download PDFs.
The Resource Den is built on the Rooted in Rhythm Framework, guiding you with six "R’s" to help you feel empowered, encouraged, and equipped in your parenting journey.
Background & History
This "R" helps you better understand your child and yourself. Download tools like a child strengths worksheet (great to share with teachers), a family tree template to explore your history, and a medical provider list to keep important contacts in one place. You’ll also find a training on emotional intelligence.
Connection
This "R" shares tips for building connection with your child. Resonance matters because it’s the foundation of development. For families formed through adoption or foster care, it also explores how early adversity can shape development and behavior.
Regulation for participation in daily life
This "R" focuses on dysregulation, a common concern for parents. When dysregulated, children may avoid, hide, or act aggressively, making daily routines hard. You’ll learn why dysregulation happens and what helps—including key information on sleep!
Building skills to gain independence
This "R" is all about building skills from the ground up—especially motor skills through strength and core stability. You’ll get tips to support skills at home, learn why play is restorative, and see how nature play boosts development.
Managing our emotions and behavior
This "R" highlights social and emotional skills. Learn how mindfulness supports big emotions, how risky outdoor play builds self-regulation, and explore relaxation practices you can use at home.
Wellness Tips and Excutive Functioning
This final "R" is about cultivating resilience. It explores how to help children find purpose—even through activities in nature—and how to strengthen executive functioning skills like organization, planning, and initiation.

AND MORE!
This is not for you if you are:
Looking for diagnostic information - we do not diagnose.
Looking for more individualized support for your child. This does not replace individualized services or supports and should not be considered therapy in any way. The information will expand your knowledge base in order to perhaps understand differences and development better.
Looking for information that would better be provided by other professionals like Speech/Language Pathologist or Physical Therapist. I have gleamed so much from working with amazing SLP's and PT's and there is likely some infused into the Den but we have different professionals for different reasons!
If you don't subscribe to the notion that when supporting children, we must do so holistically.
If you are looking for ways to "Fix" your child. We don't believe in fixing. We believe in supporting families and children in finding pathways to greater ease, joy, confidence, resilience and purpose.
Bio
Lisa Haverly has been an Occupational Therapist for nearly 25 years! She knew she wanted to be an OT since the age of 14. Lisa grew up on the plains of South Dakota where the vast prairie was all around. Nature connection was automatic living in a rural area where agriculture and farming dominated the economic industry. With Lisa's heart centered personality, it was no surprise that she chose a helping profession. Lisa spent over 20 years in the school setting providing Occupational Therapy services. She enjoyed collaborating with educational teams and providing in-services to paraprofessional staff. But she adores children and reveres childhood. Rainbow Tree Therapies launched in 2012/2013 when Lisa's passion for the nature and the outdoors merged with her desire to support children in a developmental way. PLAY is the work of children and NATURE is the environment that makes so much sense. Her nature based work started with inclusive camps. She rallied her Speech/Language colleagues and friends and launched her first set of camps in 2013! To her delight, families responded so positively to the camps that she hasn't looked back since. She has gone on to expand the camp programs and now expanding the private therapy services. Given the demand of her Rainbow Tree Therapies business, she stepped away from the school setting in 2022. Lisa and the Rainbow Tree Therapies team believe that all children deserve a place of belonging and place to thrive. The programming is holistic, heart centered, and intentional to reach outcomes of confidence, joy, ease, friendship and more.

The Resource Den
The name of this resource was going to be The Resource Hub but a childhood memory popped into my head which changed my mind to The Resource Den.
Summer drives with my grandpa were a truly special experience. We’d traverse the town, visiting places like the dump ground, the farm, the cow pasture, and of course, the Frosty Freeze. His vehicle had a red interior that was often layered with dust – a natural consequence of South Dakota’s notorious wind. You had to be ok with getting dirty. He always preferred to have the window down, letting the breeze sweep through as he whistled a merry tune (usually Blue Moon), his eyes twinkling and eyebrows dancing with playful glances.
I usually had at least one sister with me, most often my twin, Stephanie. One summer, Grandpa discovered a fox den on a small ridge within the 540 acres my parents owned. His excitement was contagious as he shared the discovery with us. One of our regular stops became a spot about 100 yards away from the den, where we’d sit with binoculars, marveling at the sight of the fox and their playful pups. The joy I felt watching the fox family frolic is a memory that’s firmly etched in my mind. Witnessing multiple dens of foxes was nothing short of amazing.
As I pondered what to name this resource space, the fox den memory resurfaced. That experience with my grandpa and my family, as we all sat and watched together, left a lasting impression from my childhood. To me, the fox den symbolizes protection, home, connection, safety, and playfulness. Hence the name, The Resource Den.
